EUROLAB laboratory provides testing and compliance services within the scope of EN IEC 60669-2-1 standard. This standard applies only to electronic switches and HBES/BACS switches for alternating current (AC) with a rated switching voltage not exceeding 250 V and a rated current not exceeding 16 A, it is intended for domestic and similar fixed electrical installations.
It also applies to electronic expansion units, such as sensors and pushbuttons, whose rated supply voltage does not exceed 250 V AC and 120 V DC. This standard also applies to electronic remote control switches (RCS) and electronic time delay switches (TDS).
Switches that contain only passive components such as resistors, capacitors, inductors, positive temperature coefficient (PTC) and negative temperature coefficient (NTC) components, varistors, printed circuit boards, and connectors are not considered electronic control devices.
This standard also applies to electronic switches and HBES/BACS switches for operating lighting equipment circuits and controlling the brightness of lighting equipment (dimmers), as well as controlling the speed of motors (for example, those used in ventilation fans).
