With the 4-point method, the flexural stiffness Sb of the corrugated board is measured within the region of elastic deformation of the liners and the ribbed media. In the 4-point method, there is almost no shearing force during the measurement.
Operating instructions are given in the machine supplier's user manual. Avoid touching the sample in the measuring area. The bending stiffness Sb is given as the arithmetic mean of ten measurements of the cross direction (CD) respectively of the machine direction (MD).
