UL 1995 UL Standard for Safe Heating and Cooling Equipment

EUROLAB laboratory provides testing and compliance services under the UL 1995 test standard. These requirements apply to the following fixed equipment and remote control assemblies for such equipment for use in non-hazardous locations rated from 600 volts to 7200 V:

• Heat pumps or field-mounted electric resistance heaters or hot water or steam heating coils for heating and cooling with or without a plant;
• Air conditioners or field-installed electric resistance heaters or hot water or steam heating coils for cooling with or without a factory;
• Chillers and compressor-evaporator or chiller groups intended for use with remote condensers;
• Additional heat pumps for comfort heating or heating and cooling; and
• Heat pump water heaters and refrigerant vapor coolers and packaged heat pump water heaters comprising a heat pump water heater and an associated storage tank;

A fan unit contains a motor-driven fan or blower and is intended to be connected to a duct system that provides conditioned air for environmental heating or cooling. Such a unit may have air-controlled dampers, but without a factory-installed heat exchanger or any other integrated means of heating or cooling.
