EN 71-8 Safety of Toys, Part 8: Test Standard for Activity Toys for Indoor Use

EUROLAB laboratory provides testing and compliance services within the scope of EN 71-8 standard. This European standard specifies requirements and test methods for activity toys for domestic use, usually attached to or containing a beam, and similar toys intended for children under 14 years of age to play on or in, and generally intended to carry the mass of one or more children.

This European standard also specifies requirements for:

• Separately sold accessories and components for activity toys;
• Swing elements, sold separately, ready for use on or with an activity toy;
• Construction packages for activity toys containing components used to make activity toys according to a planned building instruction.

The scope of this European standard does not cover:

• playground equipment for public use covered in the EN 1176 series;
• bow-mounted rocking activity toys such as rocking horses and similar toys covered by special requirements in EN 71 1;
• Toy pools with a maximum water depth of more than 400 mm, measured between the overflow level and the deepest point of the pool.
