EN ISO 11296-1 specifies the requirements and test methods for plastic piping systems intended to be used for regeneration of unpressurized underground drainage and sewer networks, operating as a gravity system and subjected to a maximum overload pressure of 0,5.
It can be applied to pipes and fittings as produced, as well as to the laid coating system. It cannot be applied to existing pipeline or any non-structural spray coating or circular fill. EN ISO 11296-1 gives general requirements common to all relevant renovation techniques.
These System standards differ from conventionally installed plastic piping systems by the requirement that certain properties be verified "in-installed" after field processing. This is in addition to specifying requirements for plastic piping system components "as manufactured".
The requirements for any family of regeneration techniques are set out in Section 1, which is implemented in conjunction with the other relevant section. For example, this document and EN ISO 11296-3 specify requirements for cladding with narrow pipes. See EN ISO 11295 for supplementary information. Not all technical families are suitable for every application, and this is reflected in the part numbers included in each System Standard.
A consistent structure of item headings has been adopted for all parts of EN ISO 11296 to facilitate direct comparisons between families of renewal techniques.
