ANSI/ISEA 105 Test for Cut Risk Protective Gloves

EUROLAB, with its state-of-the-art accredited laboratories and expert team, provides precise and fast testing services within the scope of ANSI/ISEA 105 testing. ANSI/ISEA 105 is a standard developed by the American National Standards Institute (ANSI) and the International Safety Equipment Association (ISEA) to evaluate the performance of hand protection products such as gloves, sleeves, and other types of protective equipment.

ANSI/ISEA 105 Test for Cut Risk Protective Gloves

ANSI/ISEA 105 provides a standardized classification system for hand protection products based on their performance against different types of hazards. The classification system includes four hazard categories:

  • Cut Resistance: Measures the resistance of the hand protection product to cuts caused by sharp objects. Cut resistance is rated on a scale from A1 to A9, with A9 being the highest level of cut resistance.
  • Puncture Resistance: Measures the resistance of the hand protection product to punctures caused by sharp objects.
  • Puncture resistance is rated from P1 to P4, with P4 being the highest level of puncture resistance.
  • Abrasion Resistance: It measures the resistance of the hand protection product to abrasion caused by rough surfaces.
  • Abrasion resistance is rated on a scale of 1 to 4, with 4 being the highest level of wear resistance.
  • Chemical Permeability and Degradation Resistance: Measures the ability of the hand protection product to resist chemical permeability and degradation. Chemical resistance is rated on a scale of 1 to 6, with 6 being the highest level of chemical resistance.

Each of these categories has its own performance levels based on standardized testing methods. Hand protection products are tested for specific hazards and a performance level is assigned to each category based on the test results. Performance levels are then indicated on the product label using the appropriate symbol for each hazard category, making it easy for users to identify the level of protection provided by a particular hand protection product.
