EN 1335-3 Office Furniture - Office Chair - Test Methods

This European Standard does not specify type approval tests for chair components. The tests are designed to be applied to a piece of furniture that is fully assembled and ready for use.

The tests consist of applying forces to various parts of the item that simulate normal functional use as well as misuse that could reasonably be expected to occur. Tests; Designed to evaluate properties regardless of material, design/construction or manufacturing processes.

Test results are valid only for the product tested. When the test results are intended to be applied to other similar products, it is important that the test sample is representative of the production model.

Assessment of aging and deterioration is not included. The tests are not intended to evaluate the durability of floors, i.e. fillers and coatings.
