This standard specifies test apparatus, materials and procedures for determining the tensile bond strength of an adhesive, a reinforced base coat, or a plaster system to a thermal insulation product for use as a component in exterior thermal insulation composite systems.
The tensile bond strength of the adhesive and base coat to the thermal insulation material is determined by a direct load perpendicular to the surface of the adhesive or base coat. The tensile load is applied by means of a rigid plate adhered to the test area of the adhesive or base coat.
The tensile bond strength of the base coat to the thermal insulation material is determined by a direct load perpendicular to the surface of the adhesive or base coat.
The glue will be suitable for rough surfaces and wood. The adhesive must not damage the thermal insulation material, base coat or adhesive and must not affect the results.
Adhesive or reinforced base coat is applied to the surface of the thermal insulation material with minimum dimensions of 500 mm x 1000 mm x 60 mm according to the manufacturer's instructions. Samples will not include mechanical fixations.
