In addition to the requirements of Directive 75/324/EEC, it complements the specifications, performance and test methods of aerosol dispensers for fire suppression purposes.
The requirements in this standard are specified for products containing less than 1 kg or 1 l of extinguishing agent, which can be expelled by the action of internal pressure, and intended to extinguish test fires of type A + B or type A + F, or for classes EN 2 type A + B + F. . These extinguishing aerosol dispensers are intended for use in domestic applications by the untrained. Not intended for use on gas fires (class C) and metal fires.
The extinguishing aerosol dispenser will be operated by activating the valve. The activation method will be easily understood. After the safety device is removed, the valve can be operated with a single action. It will not be necessary to repeat any movement of the actuation mechanism to initiate the evacuation.
This standard was written to produce a specification for small disposable aerosol dispensers for fire suppression with an acceptable level of performance. This type of product is intended for domestic use only where fires at limited rates are expected due to the nature of some operations or activities, where the possibility of fire spreading to other materials is remote, or where people are present at possible times. These products are not intended to replace fire extinguishers conforming to EN 3.
