It establishes a procedure for determining efficiency on the basis of a particle counting method using a liquid (or alternatively solid) test aerosol and allows for a standardized classification of these filters in terms of both their local and integrated efficiency.
This European Standard describes the measuring instruments and aerosol generators used during this test. Regarding particle counting, it specifies the statistical basis for evaluating counts with only a small number of counted events.
