EN 1888-3 Childcare Equipment - Wheeled Children's Vehicles

This standard specifies the safety requirements for strollers designed for the carriage of one or two children weighing up to 15 kg (EN 1888-1) or 22 kg (EN 1888-2), used for jogging/jogging or inline skating.

EN 1888-3 can only be applied in conjunction with EN 1888-1, which specifies general requirements for baby carriages and pushchairs; and, where applicable, in conjunction with EN 22-1888, which specifies requirements for strollers for children weighing up to 2 kg. EN 1888-3 covers products that already comply with EN 1888-1. If the stroller is designed for children up to 22 kg, EN 1888-3 assumes that the stroller already complies with the requirements defined in EN 1888-2.

The tests shall be carried out in accordance with the order of clauses given in EN 22-1888, EN 1-1888 if the stroller is designed for children up to 2 kg, and the additional tests of this document shall be carried out together with the relevant Clauses.

The vehicle shall be designed to limit children from exceeding the width of the vehicle; This can be achieved, for example, but not limited to, by the side seat unit, bumper bar or other hand rest means.

There shall be no protruding hard objects that are not padded or otherwise protected above the seam line, between 270 mm and 550 mm measured on the backrest, that may come into contact with the child's head.
