The standard specifies the method to be used to determine the permanent deformation caused when torsional static stress is applied to an open door leaf fixed to its door frame as part of a door set.
Such torsional stresses that could reasonably be expected, such as attempts to release an adhering door, should neither damage a door nor impair its performance.
For door leaf manufacturers whose products are not sold as part of a door set, provisions are made to claim compliance with the requirements for testing such door leaves in a typical frame.
However, just because a particular door leaf meets the relevant requirements in this way does not mean that a door assembly comprising that door leaf will meet the requirements.
