EN ISO 1461 Hot-Dip Galvanized Coatings, Specifications and Test Methods on Fabricated Iron and Steel Goods

EUROLAB laboratory provides testing and compliance services within the scope of EN ISO 1461 standard. EN ISO 1461 Hot-Dip Galvanized Coatings, Specifications and Test Methods on Fabricated Iron and Steel Goods

Does not apply to:

  • Continuous hot-dip galvanized sheet, wire and woven or welded mesh products;
  • Hot-dip galvanized pipe and pipe in automatic plants;
  • Hot-dip galvanized products (e.g. fasteners) that have specific standards and may contain additional requirements or requirements other than ISO 1461.

The finishing top coating of hot-dip galvanized items is not covered by ISO 1461.

This International standard lays down the requirements for the zinc melt content used to apply galvanized coatings to articles. The chemical composition and surface condition of the base metal (finish and roughness), the mass of the parts and the galvanizing conditions can affect the appearance, thickness, texture and physical/mechanical properties of the coating.
