This standard specifies a test method for measuring the adhesion of flexible or textile floor coverings or wall coverings adhered to a given substrate under peeling forces. The term "wall covering" does not include any type of wallpaper.
Adhesion is determined by measuring the bonds' resistance to peeling under certain conditions before and after storage at 23°C/50°C under specified conditions.
Depending on the source of the fibercement panels, the surfaces sometimes differ in terms of gloss, absorbency and strength. In this case, it is important to do some preliminary evaluation of the panels (i.e. peel tests) to determine the preferred side for testing. The preferred side is referred to in this standard as the top side of the substrate.
