EN ISO 7326 Rubber and Plastic Hoses, Evaluation of Ozone Resistance Under Static Conditions

EUROLAB laboratory provides testing and compliance services within the scope of EN ISO 7326 standard. EN ISO 7326 specifies five methods for determining the ozone resistance of the outer covers of hoses:

  • Method 1 is performed on the hose itself for bore sizes up to and including 25 mm;
  • Method 25 for bore sizes greater than 2 mm performed on a test piece from the hose wall;
  • For hole sizes greater than 25 mm, method 3 performed on a test piece from the cap;
  • Method 4, performed on the hose itself for all hole sizes;
  • Method 5 for all hole sizes performed on expandable hoses, eg textile reinforced hoses.

The methods described in this standard provide a means of assessing the resistance of hoses to the harmful effects of atmospheric ozone under static conditions.

For hoses with built-in fittings where it is not possible to take test pieces, ozone resistance can be evaluated on plates according to ISO 1431-1 using test sheets of the appropriate polymeric compound equally vulcanized.
