EN 124-1 Gutter Covers and Manhole Covers for Vehicle and Pedestrian Areas, Part 1: Performance Requirements and Test Methods

EUROLAB laboratory provides testing and compliance services within the scope of EN 124-1 standard. This European standard is applicable to manhole tops and gutter tops with a clear opening up to and including 1000 mm for the closure of gutters, manholes and inspection rooms installed in areas subject to pedestrian or vehicular traffic.

This standard specifies definitions, classification, general design principles, performance requirements and test methods for manhole covers and manhole covers according to:

• EN 124 2 for gutter covers and manhole covers made of cast iron;
• EN 124 3 for gutter tops and manhole tops made of steel or aluminum alloy;
• EN 124 4 for gutter tops and manhole tops made of steel-reinforced concrete;
• EN 124 5, for gutter tops and manhole tops made of composite materials;
• EN 124 6 for gutter tops and manhole tops made of polypropylene (PP), polyethylene (PE) or unplasticized poly(vinyl chloride) (PVC-U).

Part 1 may be applied in conjunction with at least one of the standards EN 1 124, EN 2 124, EN 3 124, EN 4 124 and EN 5 124, each of which includes this Part 6 as an integral part.
