EN 16147 Electrically Operated Compressor Heat Pumps - Test for Marking of Hot Water Units

EUROLAB, with its state-of-the-art accredited laboratories and expert team, offers precise and fast testing services within the scope of EN 16147 testing. This European standard is for the testing, performance rating and calculation of the water heating energy efficiency of air/water, brine/water, water/water and direct exchange/water heat pump water heaters and heat pump combination heaters with and associated electrically driven compressors. covers the methods.

EN 16147 Electrically Operated Compressor Heat Pumps - Test for Marking of Hot Water Units

This European standard covers the test procedure for domestic hot water production of a heat pump system only.

Test procedures for simultaneous operation for domestic hot water production and space heating are not covered in this standard. Simultaneous means that domestic hot water production and space heating production occur simultaneously and may interact.

This European standard only applies to water heaters supplied in a heat pump and storage tank package. In the case of water heaters consisting of many parts with refrigerant connections, this European Standard applies only to those designed and supplied as a complete package.

The test apparatus must be designed in such a way that all requirements for setting set values, stability criteria and measurement uncertainties in accordance with this European standard can be met. Water systems or other heat transfer fluid systems shall be sufficiently free of entrained gas to ensure that measured results are not significantly affected.

The heat pump will be installed and connected for testing as recommended by the manufacturer in the installation and operation manual. Optionally supplied accessories (e.g. heating element) are not included in the test. Temperature and pressure measurement points will be arranged to ensure meaningful average values are obtained.

The set points of the unit's internal control equipment, such as the thermostat, pressure switch or mixing valve, shall be set to the values specified in the installation and operating instructions. If more than one set point or range is specified, the manufacturer must specify the one to be used for the tests.
