This European standard specifies a method for the determination of the resistance of plastic and rubber sheets for waterproofing to cracking when exposed to air containing a certain ozone concentration, under static tensile stress, and at a certain temperature without the effects of direct light.
This European standard is designed for the characterization of plastic and rubber sheets as manufactured or manufactured. This test method relates only to products or, where appropriate, their components and not to workplace-mounted waterproof membrane systems consisting of such products.
This test is intended to be used in conjunction with European standards for plastic and rubber sheets for waterproofing.
Test specimens are exposed under extension to an ozone-containing atmosphere in a closed room at a defined relative humidity and temperature. After exposure, the presence or absence of cracks is determined.
Test specimens shall have an undamaged test surface. Ozone resistance will not be evaluated on cut or polished surfaces. Comparisons of different materials are valid only if cracking is evaluated on similarly polished surfaces produced by the same method.
