EN 425 Flexible and Laminate Flooring - Wheelchair Test

EUROLAB, with its state-of-the-art accredited laboratories and expert team, provides precise and fast testing services within the scope of EN 425 testing. This European standard specifies a method for determining the change in appearance and stability of a flexible floor covering or a laminate floor covering, including joints, under the movement of a wheelchair.

EN 425 Flexible and Laminate Flooring - Wheelchair Test

A flexible floor covering that contains one or more joints, machined or welded as required, is subjected to the simulated movement of a wheelchair. The wheels move in epicycloidal paths with multiple changes of direction, stop and start, and the frequency of crossing varies from region to region.

Obtain a test piece that will set up with either double-sided adhesive tape or glue, according to the manufacturer's instructions. The diameter of the test piece must be at least 750 mm.

At the end of the test, inspect the test piece from a distance of approximately 800 mm at an angle of approximately 45° and slowly rotate the viewing table for any change in appearance. Record damage from delamination, splitting, or cracking. Ignore any flattening or change in appearance, eg. change in brightness.
