The field of application of each method for analyzing blends specified in the sections of ISO 1833 indicates the fibers to which the method is applicable.
This standard is applicable to fiber blends with more than three components, provided that the combination of test methods leads to simple fiber blends situations.
After the components of a blend have been identified, the non-fibrous material is removed by appropriate pretreatment, and then one or more of the four variants of the selective solution treatment described in this article are applied.
Except where this does not present technical difficulties, it is preferable to dissolve the main fiber component to obtain the minor fiber component as the final residue.
