IEC 60068-2-2 Test

IEC 60068-2-2 deals with dry heat tests applicable to both radiant and radiant samples.

IEC 60068-2-2 Test

IEC 60068 is an internationally accepted standard developed by the International Electrotechnical Commission. IEC 60068 is a collection of methods for environmental testing of electronic equipment, components and electromechanical products to evaluate their ability to perform and survive under conditions such as transportation, storage, working environments, extreme cold and heat. IEC 60068 provides appropriate severity ratings for measurements and tests in each test method and specifies various environmental conditions. The following procedures in this standard provide a set of repeatable test methods. It is normal for companies to test their products against one or more of the following standards.

IEC 60068-2-2 The purpose of dry heat testing is limited to determining the ability of components, equipment or other objects to be used, transported or stored at high temperature. These dry heat tests do not provide the ability of samples to withstand or function during the temperature changes to be evaluated.

This test investigates how well equipment or products perform when used, transported or stored at high temperatures. This method uses constant hot temperature conditions, dry heat.

The tests in IEC 60068-2-2 are subdivided as follows:
Dry heat test for non-heat-emitting samples
• gradual temperature change, Bb.
Dry heat tests for heat dissipating samples
• gradual temperature change, Bd;
• Be strengthened throughout the sample, with gradual temperature change.
