It can be performed as a single test to investigate the effects of compression (deformation, collapse or failure) or as part of a series of tests designed to measure a package's ability to withstand a delivery system that contains a compression hazard.
Placement of the test pack between the rollers of a compression tester and compression, load and roller displacement is recorded until failure occurs or predetermined values for load or displacement are reached.
