It does not apply to row seats, seats for non-domestic use, office study chairs, office visitor seats, seats for educational institutions, outdoor seating and interconnected seating for which European Standards are available.
It does not include durability requirements for upholstery materials, wheels, tilt and tilt mechanisms, and seat height adjustment mechanisms. It does not include electrical safety requirements.
It does not include requirements for resistance to aging, degradation, flammability and ergonomics. Tests are based on use by persons weighing up to 110 kg.
