The evaporative cooled condenser is cooled by the evaporation of air and external additional water. This additional external water is supplied by a specific water supply circuit or a water tank. This European standard does not apply to air-to-air and air-to-water air conditioners with a condenser cooled by air and by evaporation of condensed water in its evaporator.
This European standard applies to units equipped with a water tank or continuous water circuit supply that can operate without a water supply. However, the standard is only about testing these water-fed units. This European standard applies to factory-made units that can be ducted.
This European standard applies to factory-built units of any fixed or variable capacity. Packaged units, single-section and multi-section systems are covered by this European standard. With regard to units consisting of several parts, this European Standard applies only to those designed and supplied as a complete package. The performance of evaporative cooled condensing units, which can also operate in heating mode, in this mode will be determined according to EN 14511.
If the heat transfer medium for the indoor unit heat exchanger is water, the unit will be called evaporative cooled condenser liquid cooling package. If the heat transfer medium for the indoor unit heat exchanger is air, the unit will be called evaporative cooling condenser air conditioner.
