EUROLAB, with its state-of-the-art accredited laboratories and expert team, provides precise and fast testing services within the scope of EN 15651-2 testing. This European standard specifies definitions and requirements for non-structural elastic sealants used to seal glass in building construction applications.

EN 15651-2 Sealants for Non-Structural Use in Joints in Buildings and Crosswalks - Part 2: Test of Glass Sealants

The main application areas are:

  • Glass to glass;
  • From glass to frame;
  • From glass to porous surfaces.

The short description of non-structural sealant for glass elements shall include: brand name, type (general chemical family), opaque or translucent, water-based or solvent-based or solvent-free, reactive or non-reactive, and one- or multi-component (e.g. neutral curing, reactive silicone and one-component etc.).

When determining the classification of a glass sealant according to the requirements of this standard, the same conditioning procedure should be used in all relevant test methods (use Method A or Method B only).

For each test method, three test specimens for each substrate will be tested. The same sealant (and primer, if used) should be used in all tests. The same surfaces (material and surface quality) will be used in all tests. Tests will be made on glass according to ISO 13640.
