The European Standard specifies classification requirements for durability of fire response performance of fire retardant treated wood products to be used in interior and exterior end-use conditions.
This European Standard applies to wood that has been treated with fire retardant products applied during a manufacturing process by a penetration process or a superficial treatment such as forming a film or intumescent flame retardant coating. It covers products with a fire retardant treatment, coated with an ordinary paint.
The mechanical properties and biological durability of fire retardant treated wood products are not covered by this European Standard.
This standard can be used for other manufactured wood products.
This standard covers wood products. It does not cover wood-based panels.
