It can be used to evaluate the strength of bonds with a thin bond line. Not applicable to adhesives for structural use or to the manufacture of particleboard, fiberboard and plywood. It does not replace tests on finished products.
European standards, which give a common classification for wood adhesives by durability classes, will significantly improve consumer protection in any future product liability system in terms of properties guaranteed by the adhesive manufacturer.
