ISO 22239-2 Road Vehicles, Child Seat Presence and Orientation Detection System (CPOD), Part 2: Standard Test for Resonator Properties

EUROLAB laboratory provides testing and compliance services within the scope of ISO 22239-2 standard. ISO 22239-2 specifies the child seat presence and orientation sensing (CPOD) resonator as part of the CPOD system. It defines the electrical and environmental requirements that must be met by resonators as a condition for CPOD compliance.

The resonators will produce a phase modulation at the receiving antenna that is demodulated by the CPOD electronic control unit (ECU). Depending on the magnetic field that energizes the resonators, these will generate a suitable magnetic field that guarantees compatibility with all CPOD compatible systems.

The ability of a CPOD resonator to generate a phase modulation in the receiving antenna, which can be evaluated by the CPOD sensor, is characterized by two parameters: The W parameter determines the resonator's ability to produce sufficient receiver amplitude in a CPOD compatible receiver. The N parameter specifies the maximum noise power at the output of the demodulator.
