ISO 6182-1 Fire Protection, Automatic Sprinkler Systems, Part 1: Requirements and Test Methods for Sprinklers

All sprinkler systems shall be designed and manufactured in such a way that they cannot be easily adjusted, disassembled or reassembled.

The bubble in each glass ampoule should be examined at room ambient temperature. The sprinklers should then be heated to 5°C below the sprinkler's minimum operating temperature range in a circulating air oven or liquid bath.

The bubble should then be examined to determine if the bubble size has shrunk to the specifications of the glass ampoule manufacturer. After cooling, the bubble size should be re-examined to determine if the balloon has returned to its original size within the tolerance allowed by the glass ampoule manufacturer.
