NFPA 1965 Standard Test Method for Fire Hose Tools

Some shut-off valves have a secondary ability to operate and hold their position between fully open and fully closed positions. The buyer should indicate that the valve is designed in this capacity if required for operations.

The device and the hose in which it is used must be carefully matched. All components of the system must be rated at or above the maximum working pressure. Use of devices rated for use with a lower service test pressure hose can cause serious malfunctions.
