EN 14511-2 Standard Test for Air Conditioners, Liquid Chiller Packages and Heat Pumps for Space Heating-Cooling and Process Chillers with Electrically Operated Compressors

EUROLAB laboratory provides testing and compliance services within the scope of EN 14511-2 standard. This European standard specifies test conditions for the rating of electrically powered compressors when used for space heating or cooling, and air conditioners, chillers and heat pumps using air, water or brine as the heat transfer medium.

The standard also specifies test conditions for rating air-cooled and water (brine) cooled process chillers.

Rating tests in heating mode are also valid for units with evaporative cooling condensers, whose performance in cooling mode is determined according to EN 15218 and can operate in heating mode.

EN 14511‑2 applies to:

• Factory-made units that can be ducted;
• Factory-made liquid cooling packages for use with integrated condenser or remote condenser;
• Factory-made units of any fixed or variable capacity;
• Air-to-air conditioners that can also evaporate the condensate on the condenser side.

EN 14511-2 applies only to those designed and supplied as a complete package, excluding remote condenser liquid chiller packages. EN 14511-2 is primarily designed for water and brine cooling packages but can also be used for other contracted liquids.

In order for the system to run as efficiently as possible, the oxygen is transported to the fuel cell stack in the cathode path via the electric air compressor. The desired amount of air is taken from the ambient atmosphere and given to the chimney at the required pressure level for electricity generation.
