This standard applies to vertical glazing and horizontal glazing with an inclination towards the attacking side (the angle radiated by the glass and the traffic area on the attacking side is less than 80°) that protect people in traffic areas from falling from the side.
Adequate bearing capacity of the glass under the planned loads must be verified according to DIN 18008-1, 8.3. For the verification of the support structure under planned loads, the relevant regulations apply.
Part 4 of this standard applies to vertical glazing and horizontal glazing with a slope towards the attack side, protecting people from side falls in traffic areas.
