EN 12778 Cookware, Standard Test Method for Domestic Pressure Cookers

EUROLAB laboratory provides testing and compliance services within the scope of EN 12778 standard. This standard defines terms for pressure cookers, specifies manufacturing, safety and operating requirements and related tests, and specifies data for marking, labeling and notification.

EN 12778 Cookware, Standard Test Method for Domestic Pressure Cookers

This standard covers pressure cookers for domestic use, with integrated or independent heating, with a gross volume of up to 25 l, an operating pressure of more than 4 kPa and less than 150 kPa.

The detachable parts of the safety device must be designed in such a way that, if incorrect assembly of the device is possible, the pressure cooker cannot reach a pressure higher than the maximum allowable pressure PS measured when the device is normally installed.

If the pressure cooker is equipped with more than one safety device, the condition that the flame does not go out only applies to the first safety device that works.
