EN 12976-1 Thermal Solar Systems and Components, Factory Made Systems, Part 1: Standard Test for General Requirements

EUROLAB laboratory provides testing and compliance services within the scope of EN 12976-1 standard. This European standard specifies requirements for durability, reliability and safety for factory-built solar heating systems.

The standard also includes provisions for assessing compliance with these requirements. The concept of system families is also included.

The requirements in this standard apply to factory-built solar energy systems as products. Installation of these systems, including their integration with roofs or facades, is not considered, but requirements are given for documentation for the installer and user to be delivered with the system.

External auxiliary water heaters installed in series with the factory-made system are not considered part of the system. Cold water pipes from the cold water mains to the system and pipes from the system to an external backup heater or water draw points are not considered part of the system.

Piping between components of a Factory Made system is considered part of the system. For the space heating option, any integrated heat exchanger or piping system is not considered part of the system.
