This European standard specifies the requirements for the installation and commissioning of water-based heating systems in buildings with a maximum operating temperature of 110°C and a maximum operating pressure of 6 bar.
This standard specifies the system requirements for the installation and commissioning of the individual components of the system (eg heat generators, pumps, controls). It does not cover special commissioning requirements for these components. This standard does not cover the installation or commissioning of connected systems (eg air conditioning, domestic hot water or ventilation systems).
This standard covers only technical requirements and does not cover commercial or contractual arrangements between parties.
It will persist in cases where joins and components are inaccessible. Permanent connections and components will be maintenance-free and have a durability corresponding to the lifetime of the components to which they are installed.
The purpose is to provide written instructions, instruct the user, and confirm that the commissioning requirements of the specification are met on the operation, maintenance and use of the heating system and any connected systems.
The contractor shall test the heating system for watertightness after installation, but before sealing pipes, shafts or openings in walls and ceilings, as well as before covering a floor heating system with screed or other coatings.
