EN 15269-2 Elements of Building Hardware - Part 2: Fire Resistance Test of Hinged and Revolving Steel Door Sets

It specifies the methodology for extending the application of test results from fire resistance tests carried out in accordance with EN 1634-1.

Depending on the completion of the appropriate test or tests, extended application may include all or some of the following examples:

• Integrity (E), integrity/radiation (EW), or integrity/insulation (EI1 or EI2) classification;
• Door leaf;
• Ventilation grilles or louvers;
• Wall/ceiling fixed elements (frame/suspended system);
• Glazing for door leaf, side, transom and recessed panels;
• Building hardware parts;
• Decorative coatings;
• Swelling, smoke, airflow or acoustic seals;
• Alternative supporting structures.

This standard is one of a number of standards intended to be used to produce an extended application report based on the evaluation of one or more fire resistance or smoke control tests. These European Standards can also be used to determine the best test sample selection needed to cover a wide variety of product variations.

A representative doorset must be tested and classified according to EN1634-1 and EN 13501-2, respectively, to establish a classification for the doorset before any assessment can be made for extended application.

When following the extended application procedure, if any part of the classified product is not covered by the expanded application rules, that part will be omitted from the next extended application report and classification report.
