This standard covers tungsten halogen lamps used as a direct replacement for conventional tungsten filament lamps, as well as new tungsten halogen lamps that do not have a counterpart in EN 60432-1, but whose safety and interchangeability requirements are addressed by this standard.
This standard also covers indirect, single-ended lamps within the above ratings.
There is no implication that a tungsten halogen lamp used as a replacement for an incandescent tungsten filament lamp will use the same bulb shape as the original incandescent lamp.
