EN ISO 14890 specifies requirements for rubber or plastic coated conveyor belts of textile construction for general surface use on smooth or corrugated rollers. Not suitable or applicable to light conveyor belts as described in EN 873.
It covers slab belt conveyor belts made in wide widths and long lengths for slicing and cutting later in narrower widths and shorter lengths to suit individual conveyor setups.
This definition does not imply that a factor of 10:1 should be used in design calculations, but it is important to keep in mind that any belt with any splice or splice should be able to transmit the desired operating power.
