EN ISO 17299-2 Textile - Determination of Deodorant Property - Part 2: Standard Test for Detector Tube Method

This part of EN ISO 17299 describes a method using a detector tube as a concentration measuring device. The detector tube is a well-known odor sensor used for measurement of environmental odor chemical concentration in the field. The detector tube is made for each specific chemical and can be used for concentration measurement for a targeted chemical in gases. Detector tubes are commercially available. If detector tubes are available, this is a very simple and inexpensive test method.

The concentration of gaseous odor compound chemicals of gas in containers with or without test sample is measured using detector tubes after a specified contact time. The % odor reduction ratio (ORR) of chemical concentration is calculated from concentration data with and without sample. Each chemical will be tested individually.
