ISO 17299-3 Textile, Determination of Deodorant Property, Part 3: Gas Chromatography Method

This method applies to fragrance component chemicals such as indole, isovaleric acid, normal and sodium chloride (NaCl) added acetic acid.

Two preparation methods are described.

  • A fragrance chemical is applied to a container avoiding contact with a sample in method A. Each chemical is tested individually;
  • In method B, a fragrance chemical is injected directly into the sample in a container. The chemicals tested in this method are a mixture of acetic acid and sodium chloride (NaCl).

This part of ISO 17299 describes a gas chromatography test method for concentration measurement of fragrance chemicals in deodorant testing. This is the most general test method that can be performed in many test labs globally if gas chromatography is available.
