AATCC 116 Color Fastness Against Breakage Test Method: Rotary Vertical Crockmeter

This test method is used to determine the amount of color transferred from the surface of colored textile materials to other surfaces by rubbing.

It is applicable to textiles made from all fibers in the form of yarn or fabric, whether dyed, printed or otherwise colored, and especially textiles where there is a separation of smaller colored areas than is possible to test with the standard crockmeter (AATCC TM8, Color Fastness Test Method). Test procedures using dry or wet test squares with water or other liquids are within the scope of this method.

The AATCC 116 Rotary Crockmeter is used to determine the color fastness of textiles to dry or wet rubbing, especially for printer fabrics. It applies 16 grams of pressure to a 1134mm finger and rotates it 1.125 revolutions, first clockwise and then counterclockwise.
