DIN 18032-3 Gymnasiums, Halls and Rooms for Sports and Multi-Purpose Use, Part 3: Safety Test Against Ball Launch

EUROLAB laboratory provides testing and compliance services within the scope of DIN 18032-3 standard. This standard was developed by the NA 005-01-27 AA gymnasiums, ball impact safety working committee at the DIN building standards committee (NABau).

Describes the procedure used to test the ball impact resistance of ceilings, walls, and built-in elements (eg, wall and ceiling linings, doors, windows, ventilation grilles, lights, switches, sockets, clocks, etc.) for gymnasiums.

Applies to all elements that basketball, punch ball, football, handball, hockey ball, medicine ball, bouncing ball, tennis ball and volleyball can hit indoors. Not applicable for standard impact loads.

Handball and hockey ball tests are carried out with a ball launcher, where the speed and direction of these balls can be adjusted. The measuring technology must be calibrated regularly to control the set speed. The device must be adjustable for different angles of incidence (from vertical to horizontal).

For the experiment, ceiling, wall and built-in elements will be mounted in accordance with the intended use. Test areas will be designed large enough to be structurally and functionally representative. The walls and ceilings used to secure the elements to be tested, including the support structures, must be strong enough not to move during the test.
