This standard does not apply to articles whose parts provide colorant as agreed.

This standard specifies the method of testing the resistance of daily use articles to artificial sweat.

The method is particularly suitable for articles of daily use intended to be taken orally or intended to come into contact with the skin when used. With the test, it is determined whether coloring agents can pass from daily use products to the skin.

This standard does not apply to articles intended to come into contact with foodstuffs, or to parts of articles of daily use whose function is the release of coloring matter, or to articles of daily use where this applies to all of them.

Examples of the latter are wax crayons and the tips of pencil crayons. The test method can be applied to all articles in daily use, regardless of the coloring procedure applied (eg dyeing, painting, coating).
