It can be applied to flexible single-layer metal or plastic tubes and multi-layer or laminated tubes used in the packaging of pharmaceuticals, cosmetics, hygiene, food and other household and industrial products.

It detects air bubbles escaping from the cap when the tube is kept under water and exposed to 0,25 bar internal air pressure.

During the test period, some bubbles may form shortly after the tube is immersed, due to the air present under the cap before the tube is submerged. After a bubble-free test period of 3 s, the tube cap is considered tight.
