EN 13402-3 Size Determination of Clothing - Part 3: Body Labeling Test Based on Body Measurements and Spacing

To determine body measurements for mass-produced clothing, the body size of the intended user needs to be identified and defined. A pictogram is used, along with body size ranges of the intended wearer, to clearly and visibly convey the size of a garment.

Primary size ranges are provided for body measurements and size description for men, women, boys, girls, and infants. In addition, secondary dimensions are given with possibilities that a country/company can implement when needed. Probabilities are shown in the tables horizontally for each primary dimension value and vertically for each secondary dimension value.

This standard provides flexibility to cover all body shapes and types of clothing. The pictogram should be labeled with the size designation, primary or secondary dimensions. Companies create the pictogram from their own size charts.
