EN 14036 Child Use and Care Products, Baby Bouncers, Safety Requirements and Test Methods

EUROLAB laboratory provides testing and compliance services within the scope of EN 14036 test standard. This European standard specifies minimum safety requirements and test methods for vertically suspended baby bouncers for home use for children weighing up to 12 kg and able to support their head unaided.

This standard does not include products that allow the child to lie down, such as vertically hanging amulet baskets and carrycots. Baby bouncers designed for children with special needs are not included in this standard.

Gaps should always be greater than 12mm or less than 5mm to avoid shearing and crushing points between rigid moving parts moving relative to each other within the child restraint system.

The gaps between two consecutive turns of exposed extended coil springs shall be no more than 15 mm when the spring is extended with a mass of 3 kg, and 66 mm when the spring is extended with a mass of 5 kg.
