EN 15651-4 Sealants for Non-Structural Use at Joints in Buildings and Crosswalks - Part 4: Test of Sealants for Crosswalks

This European standard specifies the definitions and requirements for cold applied non-structural elastic sealants for movement joints in floors in building construction for interior and exterior use.

Scope of application; These are flooring joints designed for pedestrian walkways, general areas, movement joints between reinforced concrete floors, areas with pedestrian load, use areas with cars, walkable floors, balconies, terraces, warehouses.

Chemical containment, cold-applied joint sealants and environmental sealants for concrete pavements to be used on roads, airports and sewage treatment plants are excluded. This European standard does not apply to non-structural sealants in any non-paste form for use at pedestrian crossings.

When determining the classification of a sealant according to the requirements of this standard, the same conditioning procedure should be used in all relevant test methods. For each test method, three test specimens for each substrate will be tested. The same sealant (and primer, if used) should be used in all tests. The same surfaces (material and surface quality) will be used in all tests.
