This standard covers igniters supplied as solid, liquid, thickened liquid or gel formulations. However, the use of highly flammable liquids (except in stabilized formulations) is specifically excluded from the scope of this document as their use as a barbecue igniter is considered highly dangerous. This standard aims to reduce the risks that may occur during and during barbecue with solid fuels.
Any free liquid separation that occurs in a thickened liquid or gel igniter bottle will be reversed and the thickened liquid or gel regenerated by shaking the bottle and allowing the contents to settle.
The fire burner should be packaged to contain the product, protect the consumer, prevent environmental pollution and facilitate safe handling, storage and transportation.
The purpose of the test is to ensure the safety of use of the igniter. The test evaluates the behavior of the igniter during ignition, the combustion behavior of the igniter, and the behavior when the igniter is applied to an open flame.
