EUROLAB, with its state-of-the-art accredited laboratories and expert team, provides precise and fast testing services within the scope of EN 1933 testing. This European standard specifies a test method for determining the ability of exterior blinds to withstand loads caused by rainwater trapping by the fabric.

EN 1933 Exterior Louvers - Standard Test for Resistance to Load Due to Water Accumulation

This standard applies to exterior louvers that protrude in the extended position. These:

  • folding arm blind;
  • cage arm blind;
  • Adjustable or fixed Dutch awning.

The extended blind is sprayed with a controlled amount of water and its top mechanical performance is tested under the influence of the weight of a retained water.

Proper spraying requires a two-point water inlet equidistant from the center of the spray lance. The distance between the two entry points is between one-third and one-half of the total pipe length.

For the maximum distance between the arms, use the manufacturer's specification maximum dimensions (width and overhang). Smaller size awnings get the same class.
