This standard contains guidance on the design, planning, operation, installation, commissioning and maintenance of I&HAS installed in buildings. I&HAS requirements are specified in EN 50131-1.
The recommendations of this standard (TS) also apply to IAS and HAS when these systems are installed independently. Intrusion detection requirements do not apply when an I&HAS does not include intrusion detection functions.
When an I&HAS does not include hold-related functions, hold-related requirements do not apply. Unless otherwise stated, the abbreviation I&HAS is intended to also mean IAS and HAS.
This standard is intended to assist those responsible for establishing an I&HAS to determine the appropriate design of the I&HAS, both in terms of the extent of control required and the degree of system performance required to provide the degree of control deemed appropriate.
This standard is also intended to assist those responsible for selecting equipment suitable for both the required level of performance and the environmental conditions under which the equipment will be required to operate.
These application guidelines relate to all classes and grades of I&HAS of all sizes and complexity. This standard should be read in conjunction with EN 50131-1.
In the preparation of this standard, it was assumed that the implementation of its provisions would be entrusted to suitably qualified and experienced persons. However, the standard is also suitable for others who may need to purchase or use an I&HAS.
